How Should I Prepare For This Test?

Diet

For 48 hours before, avoid phytoestrogen-rich foods (e.g., soy, flaxseeds, licorice) and dopamine influences (e.g., bananas, avocados, fava beans). Limit caffeine and alcohol.

Supplements

Stop hormone-related supplements (e.g., DHEA, pregnenolone) 72 hours prior, unless prescribed—consult your provider. Avoid tyrosine, quercetin, or Mucuna for 48 hours if instructed.

Medications

Continue as prescribed. If on hormone therapy, time collections midway between doses (or day 12-14 for oral meds).

Fasting

Not required but avoid food/drink (except water) 2-3 hours before each sample for accurate cortisol levels.
